Per the artist, Helen Wilson, “Since this Mural was going on a Gallery/Art Center I worked with the history of the Ramona Back Country as a premier California Plein Air painting site. I was interested in the “artist perspective” of the moment before a painting has begun and is still forming in the mind. Envisioned is the moment when an artist stands in nature, looks with an artist eye and nature looks back. The Golden Rectangle has a long history with the arts as a way of organizing compositions; as a mathematical formula it is also related to how plants grow and nature organizes. The crows are amused at the whole idea.
“I would like to thank my art students from Palomar College, the Tuesday Nights Artists’ Group, The Art Center of Ramona and 2Create Gallery for their assistance.”
